Fear? Not
Turn On the Light Tonight - by John Fischer
This much I know: Regardless of where you land on the trick-or-treating thing, if there is anything believers should not participate in today, it's not trick-or-treating: It's fear. Christians have no business being afraid today or any day. We worship the God of the universe who is over all powers and authorities and rulers on earth, above it or “below” it. If we as Christians show fear to the world, it comes as a disgrace to God. What does it say about the reality of God in our lives when we allow fear to motivate us?

But I love scary movies.
i love scary food - bwah hah hah.
refreshing post.
hmmm...how refreshing...
we always had the kids dress as something creative or cute...and then the religious fear thing got put on us...
so we hid in churches for a few years and didnt dress up...
my almost 19 year old went out this year in a big brown bunny RABBIT costume with big floppy ears and white yarn pompom tail (Yes, I was incredible with the sewing machine once again!!!!)
...and her boyfriend was a piece of pizza with a angry mask...
they did not give in to the "evil" side or "overtly sexual" side...some of her classmates were hookers or playboy bunnies...she chose RABBIT.
and they had fun and took pictures and made some fun memories...
God does rule over all the days of my life and theirs...so why choose fear and hide in the closet? get out there and celebrate Him.
